Absolutely. We don’t want our quarterbacks relying on athleticism alone—developing football IQ is a key part of our training. We teach QBs how to read coverages, recognize defensive tendencies, and make smarter pre- and post-snap decisions. We also offer chalk talks and can organize focused sessions to dive into offensive and defensive schemes, helping athletes understand play design, anticipate adjustments, and make the right reads under pressure.

Yes—whether it’s team installs, offseason prep, or in-season adjustments, we help quarterbacks break down terminology, route progressions, timing, and decision-making so they can fully grasp and execute their playbook with confidence. Learning a playbook is one of the most challenging parts of playing quarterback, and there’s no shame in needing help decoding it. As the go-to position on the field, you’re expected to know your playbook inside and out—forward, backward, and under pressure.

We take confidentiality seriously—every playbook, scheme, and install we review stays private. We work with quarterbacks from many teams across the area, and protecting that trust is a top priority.

Yes—we offer in-depth film sessions both in person and virtually via FaceTime or Zoom. It’s one of the most undercoached areas of the quarterback position. Breaking down film with a knowledgeable and unbiased coach is key to truly understanding what was done well and what can be improved—without egos, politics, or emotion getting in the way. We walk through post-game moments, review decisions, and help quarterbacks identify missed reads and opportunities for growth.

And when things do go right? We’re the first to celebrate the progress—especially when our QBs are out there tossing dimes and tearing up defenses.

We do. Our network of knowledgeable, experienced football coaches runs deep in this part of Texas. We often run collaborative sessions that include quarterbacks, wide receivers, and defensive backs to help athletes sharpen timing, communication, and real-game chemistry across positions.

A4 Football Academy typically provides quarterback training to athletes in the Greater San Antonio, Texas area—but we’re not limited to that. We also work with quarterbacks from surrounding towns and cities across Central Texas, including New Braunfels, San Marcos, Schertz, Seguin, and more. Flexibility is one of our biggest strengths. We can arrange training wherever it makes sense for the athlete—even beyond Texas. A4 sessions have taken place in multiple states, from one-on-one workouts to jumping in and running QB drills during full team camps in the preseason or offseason.

It depends on the athlete’s age, goals, health, and time of year. In the offseason, most QBs train 1–3 times per week with focused, position-specific work. During the season, we scale back to lighter support like pre-game prep, film review, or situational work.

We prioritize balance. There’s no benefit to overtraining if it puts your health or performance at risk. We stay in sync with each quarterback’s full workload—practices, lifts, conditioning—to integrate, not overload.

While we don’t act as recruiters, my experience as a former Division I quarterback—and the network that comes with it—helps shape how I prepare athletes for the next level. We’ve guided quarterbacks through creating and organizing film to send to college coaches, including filming structured workouts with routes and throws recruiters look for. Our goal is to help QBs stand out with consistent mechanics, smart decision-making, and confident leadership—on tape and in person. We’re also happy to connect athletes with trusted resources who can support their recruiting journey beyond the field.
